The numerous stories of Portuguese sailors repeatedly prompted him to suggest that the King of Portugal make his expedition to the west, and once he addressed him with this question, but nothing came of it. And on August 3, 1492, his first marine expedition of the Spanish navigator started. The traveler during his life made four voyages, the last of which ended on November 7, 1504.
