The story of red buses began in 1956 in London. Also people know those buses as doubledeckers and it is the name of the red double-decker buses plying on London’s city routes. The bus model "Routemaster", which was in operation from 1956 to 2005, became a symbol of the city. In December 2007, on the eve of the 2012 Summer Olympics, a project was launched to develop a new city bus for London. Those buses became much comfortable and bigger. The annual passenger traffic of such buses is 2.3 billion people. Throughout London, there are 673 routes with such buses. The number of red buses in London exceeds more than 8,000.
